Our Montuno Dance Company team is beyond proud and excited for the overwhelming turnout and support we received during our Performers Fundraiser on March 30th. Held in the beautiful Grand Oak Room at Evergreen Community SPACES, the energy and atmosphere were incredible!
Directors Moises and Lianabel kicked off the evening by leading a fun intro to the Bachata lesson. Our amazing MC and good friend, @gabriela_anaite, masterfully guided the audience through the event, introducing each performer with flair and keeping the crowd entertained by sharing her love and knowledge of the culture.
The lineup featured our dance teams and various local guest performers @bachatakiz @dafusioncalgary @lifesxl from Salsa Rica, creating a diverse and fun showcase. This year, we have coached and choreographed 4 performance/competition teams: Mambo Team, Bachata Team, Morena Ladies Team and Guajira Ladies Team.

One of the night’s highlights was the Jack & Jill competition, which saw an impressive 22 couples vying for the title! The winners, @tinalee1120 and @andriilitkov, each received a Monthly Pass for classes with Montuno Dance Company and a VIP ticket to the @bycfestivals (Bachata y Cultura Festival) sponsored by @nino_acostaofficial.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our students, friends, and family, as well as the dedicated Evergreen staff and the dance community, for the support. This was the first event of this scale, and we cannot wait to do it all again next year!
