MONTUNO DC - STUDIO ETIQUETTE

To ensure a welcoming, respectful, and productive environment for everyone, we kindly request that all students adhere to our studio guidelines and etiquette. These expectations help our classes run smoothly and support a positive experience for the entire dance community.

Whether you’re just starting your dance journey or have been with us for a while, being informed helps us all get the most out of every class.

Arrive On Time
* Arriving 5–10 minutes early gives you time to change shoes, warm up, and be ready to start.
* If you're running late, enter quietly and wait for a natural pause to join in.

Be Respectful to Instructors and Fellow Dancers
* Listen attentively and avoid talking while instructions are being given.
* Avoid correcting others unless asked — that’s the instructor’s role.
* Treat all dance partners with kindness, patience, and respect.

Hygiene & Cleanliness
* Wear clean clothes and use deodorant.
* Avoid strong perfumes or colognes — some dancers may be sensitive.
* Bring a clean pair of indoor dance shoes to protect our floors.
* Keep personal items tidy and out of the way.

Practice Consent and Safe Partnering
* Always ask before dancing with someone — no one is obligated to say yes.
* Respect personal space and boundaries.
* Adjust your lead/follow technique to match your partner’s comfort and skill level.

Stay Present and Engaged
* Avoid using your phone during class unless it's an emergency.
* Refrain from filming without the instructor's permission.

Take Responsibility for Your Progress
* Ask questions if you need clarification.
* Practice in between classes when possible.
* Be open to feedback — it’s part of the process.

Support a Positive Community
* Celebrate each other’s progress.
* Encourage new dancers and help create an inclusive vibe.
* If you witness disrespect or unsafe behaviour, report it to the instructor or studio team.

Follow Studio Policies
* Be aware of our cancellation, refund, and attendance policies.

Let’s all work together to create a studio culture built on respect, safety, and the joy of dancing.
Thank you for being part of our community!
