Originally from Venezuela, Moises is the Founder and Co-Director of Montuno Dance Company, Alberta’s fastest-growing, most innovative, and inclusive Latin dance school. In just five years, he has helped establish Montuno as one of Calgary’s top dance studios, proudly developing strong social dancers, mentoring new instructors, and creating opportunities for emerging and younger talents to share their love for dance.

 

With over a decade of professional dance experience, Moises is an outstanding instructor known for his charismatic, energetic, and friendly teaching style. His challenging yet supportive coaching style also characterizes him. Moises has been privileged to teach, perform, and compete at numerous congresses, festivals and workshops around Canada.

 

Moises has performed on stage with international artists such as Aymee Nuviola, Joseph Amado, and Michael Romance. He also collaborated on a dance video for Grammy-winning percussionist Robert Vilera and lent his choreographic talent to the Epix television series Billy the Kid (2022).

 

Among the highlights of Moises’s dance career are qualifying for the Master Track at Mamboland Milano, the premier training program for dancers and instructors by Adolfo Indacochea, and being personally invited to join the Iroko Dance Company by Ernesto and Denisse. Widely recognized as one of Alberta’s top Salsa artists, Moises is a fun and approachable dancer known for his smooth and flavorful style.

 

Moises is not only passionate about teaching adults, he also brings that same energy and dedication to working with kids. Since 2018, he has been an instructor and mentor with SoundKreations, Canada’s leading in-school dance residency company. He has taught over 30,000 students across more than 50 schools throughout Alberta. Known for his kind, charismatic, and fun personality, Moises has a natural gift for connecting with kids. He regularly leads full-school dance programs and is one of the most requested instructors in Calgary. His ability to successfully manage and engage classes of up to 70 students at a time sets him apart as a dynamic educator.
