NICHOLAS SALIOH

Born and raised in Edmonton, AB, Nico has always lived an active lifestyle, immersing himself in sports like basketball and martial arts. From a young age, he developed a deep appreciation for Latin culture, but it wasn’t until a spontaneous night out with friends that he discovered Salsa dancing.

Starting with no formal dance experience, Nico quickly became captivated. Through dedication and discipline, he committed himself to mastering the techniques and fundamentals, transforming what began as curiosity into a true passion.

Driven to grow, he later moved to Calgary to immerse himself in its vibrant Latin dance community and train with some of the city’s top instructors. Since then, Nico has continued to refine his craft and expand his versatility as a performer.

In just four years, Nico has performed consistently across a wide range of formats, including Salsa and Bachata partnerwork teams, duets, and solo showcases. He has taken the stage at prestigious events across Canada, such as the Calgary International Salsa Congress and the Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress. He has also stepped into the competitive scene, participating in team divisions, solo categories, and Jack & Jill heats.

Currently, Nico is part of the Montuno DC Roraima Partnerwork and Warao Men Competition teams. He is also a junior instructor at Montuno Dance Company, one of Calgary’s top Latin dance schools. Through his teaching, he is passionate about growing the social dance community while helping students build strong fundamentals. He is dedicated to delivering Montuno DC’s structured teaching style, ensuring students develop both confidence and technique on the dance floor.

As an instructor, Nico is known for his relatable, friendly, and charismatic approach. He creates a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and motivated to grow, making learning both effective and enjoyable.
