Originally from Peru, Elena grew up dancing Ballet, Contemporary, and traditional Peruvian styles like Marinera Norteña and Festejo. Dance has always been part of her life, but it wasn’t until moving to Canada that she discovered her passion for Salsa and Bachata—realizing the rhythm was already in her and she was ready to take it further.

 

In 2023, Elena joined Montuno Dance Company to pursue focused training as a social dancer and performer. Her dedication and talent quickly earned her a spot on the performance teams, and she hasn’t looked back since. Always driven to grow, she’s now expanding her repertoire with styles like Chachachá, Afro-Mambo Fusion, and Rumba.

After over a year of assisting the classes, Elena has stepped into the role of Junior Instructor, now leading beginner Salsa and Bachata classes.

Elena sees dance as more than just movement—it’s a way to stay connected to culture, stay active, and share joy. Her goal is to keep growing and inspire others to embrace dance as a powerful, joyful part of life.
