Born and raised in Sydney, Australia Asantewaa Asima (Santi)’s love for dance began long before she discovered salsa dancing. Her dance journey training began at the age of 3 at Brent Street Studios where she explored various styles from ballet to hip hop. Her early experiences shaped her unique approach to movement.

In 2020, she joined Latin Dance Australia, where she began salsa and reggaeton dancing, which transformed her dance journey, adding a new rhythm and flair to her versatile style. She has performed and competed in Australia renowned festivals, including the Sydney International Bachata Festival, the Sydney Salsa Mambo Convention and Rumbia Festival.

In 2023, shortly after moving to Canada, she joined Montuno Dance Company, where she continued her training not only as a dancer but also as an instructor. Santi has been assisting the intermediate classes and leading the footwork sections during the salsa classes.

As an instructor, Santi is characterized by her high energy and charismatic personality. Her classes are celebrated for their fun, vibrant, and engaging atmosphere, ensuring that her students have a memorable and enjoyable experience.

As a dancer, Santi is renowned for her captivating solo shines, charismatic and sassy dance energy, and commanding stage presence.
